Yum-O!

Tonight our niece Emily came over and I decided to make brownies. I wanted to try a new recipe from the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook and they turned out really yummy. They were easy to make too. Sorry duncan hines, these got you beat!
Fudgy Brownies

1/2 c butter
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 c all purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
optional: chocolate chips, or chopped nuts
* I added chocolate chips instead of nuts
1.Melt better and unsweetened chocolate over low in a saucepan, stir constantly. Once melted, remove and let cool.
2. Grease 8x8 pan or 9x9x2 dish.
3. Once, choc. is cooled, stir in sugar. Then add eggs, 1 at a time, beating with a wooden sppon after each egg addition. Stir in vanilla.
4. In a small bowl, stir together flour and baking soda. Then add to the chocolate mixture; stir until well mixed. If desired add nuts or choc. chips.
5. Spread the batter in the dish.
6. Bake 350 for 30 mins. for an 8 in. pan or 25 mins. for 9 inch pan.

Happy Baking!

I keep forgetting to mention this to you...do you know who you remind me of? Paula Dean-that cooking lady. You both have that wonderful southern charm, style, and are so fun.

Hey guys, I'm a friend of Megan's, so she sent me to your blog. Just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to make brownies for my husband today. He thanks you :)

You don't look anything like Paula Dean though. Much cuter and way skinnier of course.

After looking at your post, I think I am going to have to go make those brownies right now! They look so good! I found my background on matiekay.blogspot.com, she used to have more but for some reason she had to get rid of them. There are a few on there right now that you can put on your blog!
