Beauty and Body Image

I DVR'd Oprah today because I knew Jessica Simpson was going to be on the show talking about her media issues with weight. So I was interested, and it was awesome. She made a lot of great points about how women need to personally be happy with themselves and not let others influence them about body image. She is also starting a new show on VH1 about beauty around the world. I read my friend Jenna's blog about body image and I thought this was just what many of us may need. I too struggle a lot with body issues like many women. I know it is silly and that males don't understand. It is especially hard for me since I feel like I have to look a certain way since I am always teaching some type of fitness class. I always want to lose 5- 10 lbs especially now! But, I know that I need to be happy for my health and for what I have. Anyways, if you are like me and many other women and struggle with issues at times, take a look at this.

Liz, I totally know what you mean about women struggling with issues with their body image.

If I may say so though, you are hands down one of the most darling people I know. I have heard quite a few people speak admirably about your awesome figure and great style!

Liz, I miss you! You need to read a book called Intuitive Eating ... I struggled with these issues for years. It's basically a rite of passage growing up in California, sad but true. ... but anyway, the book teaches you how to surrender, it was very helpful for me. xoxo!
